Elle Foster

Elle is a Senior Mental Health Occupational Therapist with over ten years’ experience. Elle offers occupational therapy assessment and interventions for people aged 13-64 years. She is a compassionate and empathic therapist who values the importance of developing a strong therapeutic relationship with her clients. Elle offers a warm and welcoming environment in which clients may feel heard and understood. She is open to the involvement of families, carers and the broader range of supports people may choose to have in their care.

Elle completed her Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at Monash University and progressed to attain a Masters in Youth Mental Health at the University of Melbourne. She has worked in both non-government mental health organisations, private practice and in Victorian Public Mental Health Services for over ten years. This experience is across an array of settings including residential, in-patient and community mental health.

Elle is currently the manager of the Youth Mental Health Team at Monash Health and a teaching associate in the psychiatry department at Monash University. She has also completed further studies in developmental psychiatry and a range of psychological therapies including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Good Psychiatric Management for Borderline Personality Disorder (GPM), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and sensory modulation. Elle is also trained in assessment for autism spectrum disorder and administering the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition, ADOS-2.

Elle is experienced in completing functional capacity assessments to support people to live meaningful and fulfilling lives. She also completes sensory profile assessments with the aim of enabling people to regulate their nervous and sensory systems to better manage emotions, relationships and behaviours.

In Elle’s spare time she enjoys being with her family, walking her dog and visiting the beaches on the Mornington Peninsula.
