How to Make an Appointment
Welcome to Health Buddies AU! Whether you need to see a psychiatrist, psychologist, or any mental health clinician, we’re here to support your mental health journey
Determine Your Needs
If you’re seeking medication management or have been referred by another healthcare provider for specific psychiatric conditions, booking a session with a psychiatrist is recommended.
If you’re looking for therapy, counselling or psychology sessions to explore emotions, behaviours, and coping strategies, consider booking a meeting with a psychologist.
Consult Your GP for a Referral
Obtain a referral from your GP for a psychiatrist or psychologist appointment.
You will be eligible for 6-10 Medicare rebated psychology sessions every year under the mental health plan.
Send or Upload Referral.
Once you have received the referral, please email/fax your referral. You can also upload your referral by clicking the Book Appointment tab
We Review and Book Appointments
Our clinic will review the referral letter and form, and contact the patient or doctor regarding the next steps.
Prepare for Your Appointment
Gather and upload any relevant medical records, referral letters, or personal notes that might help in understanding your concerns better.

Follow-Up and Ongoing Care
After your initial consultation, discuss follow-up appointments with your practitioner or ongoing therapy sessions
All our appointments are pre-booked and planned. In case of an emergency, please contact 000 or local CAT team/ Psychiatric Triage Service for 24 hr crisis support or present to the nearby Emergency Department of a hospital (ED). In urgent situation, you may call -Lifeline (13 11 14), Beyond Blue (1300 224 636), kids’ helpline (1800 55 1800), Suicide Call Back Service (1300 659 467)
